The Dove Announces a Call for Proposals
Proposals for 2026 exhibitions, workshops, and art camps will be accepted July 15 to September 1.
The Dove Block Project, a community arts center in historic downtown Geneva, NY, will make an open call for programming proposals for the 2026 season beginning July 15, 2025 and ending September 1, 2025.
This is an opportunity for local individuals and groups to share their knowledge, skills, and creative talents with the Finger Lakes region in ways that align with The Dove’s mission to bring accessible, quality arts programming to all members of the community and elevate awareness of Arthur Dove—a Genevan and a significant figure in the development of modern art—programming is FREE of charge to participants thanks to generous grants, individual memberships, corporate sponsorships, and donations.
Art Exhibitions: Individual regional artists and art groups present 2D and 3D work in a professional gallery space with modern hanging and lighting systems. Past exhibits from individuals and groups have included paintings, drawings, photography, installations, crafts, mixed media sculpture, and fiber art. All exhibition proposals are due by the deadline.
The Dove specifically welcomes proposals for workshops for youth and adults, and art camps specifically for school-age children and/or teens, and adults 55+. Please be sure to specify the age group that you are interested in working with for each proposal.
Workshops: Regional artists and artisans present hands-on creative experiences in one-day, multi-day or multi-week sessions for adults, children, and families. Examples of past and upcoming workshops include 2D and 3D projects like painting, printmaking, felting, painting a collaborative community mural, plein air painting, mobiles, screen printing, book illustration, and discussing and writing poetry. Workshop teachers are offered an honorarium of $250.
Art Camps: The Dove provides art camps for youth during school breaks and summer vacation and will be implementing adults 55+ art camps during the fall, winter, and spring months. Programs must be appropriate for the age range for which you are proposing the camp. Camps run weekdays for a full week. Daily sessions typically run a half-day. Classes should be hands-on opportunities for creative expression using the visual and language arts, science, and other inspiring means of creation. Art camp teachers are offered a daily honorarium of $250.
In a positive and private manner, The Dove Block Project will be implementing a background check policy for all instructors who teach youth, 18 and under, at the Dove Block facility and off-site locations. In doing so The Dove Block Project will continue to provide a safe environment for all youth. All youth instructors will be required to pass a simple background check prior to being put into our programming calendar. The Dove Block Project will have the right to refuse an instructor if they don’t pass the background check or if the instructor refuses to submit information for the aforementioned.
Your Proposals should be emailed to Harold@thedoveblockproject.org between July 15th and September 1st, 2025.

The Dove Block Project will review proposals based on overall artistic integrity and how the subject, media, or content fits in with the goals of The Dove. Applicants will receive a reply a month after the submission deadline (September 1, 2025).
