Here are some examples of the Dove Block programs that sponsors help support:

Workshops: Our one-day workshops let participants exercise their artistic talents with guidance and instruction by professional artists, educators, and hobbyists. There is no charge for attendance or for materials. Workshops have covered, for example, acrylic painting, mobiles, screenpainting. and fiber arts.

Art Camps: An art camp is generally a week-long series of workshops for school-age children, offered while Geneva schools are not in session. As always, they are offered with no charge to participants. Examples this year include Screen Writing Art Camp with Gerry Garcia; Fiber Art Camp with Lisa DeFrancesco; and Screen Printing Art Camp with Harold Copp.

Exhibitions: The Dove Blocks gallery spaces host a wide variety of exhibitions, which generally change monthly. There is no admission charge to the exhibition or to the opening reception with refreshments and music. Exhibitions this year include, for example, Kinetic Illusions: Kent Divers; Artwork from Historic Geneva’s Collection; and the annual Members Exhibition.

Events: A variety of events are offered at The Dove Block, including: the February Art walk, an open mic on every fifth Sunday, and monthly Sunday Cinema films shown in the James Spates theater. There are also eight Paint-and-Sip events (listed on our web site under workshops) where, of course, both art materials and refreshments are free!
